I wasn't expecting them to match up with the greatness of season 3. But so far I'm not really interested at all. The killed off Peter Russo way to quick. The shit he had going on looked exciting.

I guess she's going to be investigating the intel source in Pakistan, but that seems like a dud story on its surface. Hopefully something interesting comes from the Pakistani kid. Maybe he was working for his uncle?

I started sweating as SOON as Carrie looked at Baby Brody kinda funny in the tub, like, "Aw, shit..."

That was close.

I do like there being conflict with Carrie wanting to be out in the field instead of doing the right thing and being a mother to her child. It's understood that Baby Brody's obviously a physical reminder of him and their illicit love. I wonder how far they're going to take it, though. I mean, aside from having Carrie considering drowning ol' girl, that is.

I ain't mad at Quinn, either. That scene in the diner with the heckler asshole dudes was lame, though. I'm also hoping he and Carrie don't start fucking around, if only because it will mean certain death for him.

Ol' boy from Life of Pi is going to have to start doing some shit aside from looking really sad and half mad. But I'm with the story so far, and am wondering what those vials are. I'm also hoping we go back to ol' girl who he dropped the vials off to, cause she was hot.

And I wasn't surprised they killed off Corey Stoll early on, if only for the shock of it, with the message being, "Don't get too comfortable, niggas, Saul might get popped next week if we feel like it."

You know they've established Carrie is truly batshit crazy when I really wasn't sure if she was gonna kill baby brody

oh, and cosign on life of pi's girl... when she opened the door I was very impressed

I like the story of her going back and digging deep on what was exposed, also like life of pi having his own side story, should be a good season

into the show. It's the reason that Brody stuff became intolerable. By all accounts, dude should have died season 1, at the very least, some point during season 2. But the writers were enamored with their "love" story and forced the issue. I guess that's how they hook women viewers. Who knows.

But they're doing the same thing with Quinn. There is NO reason for their to be a romance between those characters other than women viewer fan service IMO. The writers must think that ultimately, Homeland is about love. And that's not good. Just focus on the suspense. The spy craft. The sudden bursts of action. I don't need character shipping.

I still think they could have kept Brody in the mix past Season 1 if they didn't wallow in the phony love story in Season 2.

I'll also add that anyone who still thinks Brody should have blown up the bunker in Season 1 is flat out wrong. Not to say they couldn't have killed him in the same episode after that, but the vest should not have gone off.

Remember that movie The Siege? that's what this shit feels like. The CIA operative recruits and develops feelings for the source, only to find out he was with the other side all along.

The only bright spot so far is Fara. Ironically, she's getting closer and closer to the dark side.

They need to ditch every single iota of a love story from this show. Homeland is at its best when it is almost solid action/thriller.
That shit last season with Brody trying to get into Iran and the subsequent triple agent shit was fantastic.

This show has so much potential when they don't waste time on Carrie's relationships or her being fucking crazy

I really thought Saul was gonna off himself sitting with that gun

I can't wait for the diplomat's husband to get his

Homegirl who's working with him tho, she has "evil, cuniving bitch I want to fuck" down pat

Would have to think Carrie leading Saul to be captured again means they will eventually save him, and when they do, the saul/carrie convo should be classic

Lockhart has turned into a real entertaining "fuck the bad guys" type. He cracked me up the whole time

they're gonna do the exchange, Lockhart walked in and told the ISI we will meet Haqqani's demands

But Saul will hold a grudge against Carrie for that and if the writers are smart they won't just have him get over it in one episode

Again, when they don't make Carrie a skeezer/love struck teenager the show has potential

But that stuff became completely uninteresting after a couple of episodes. The show is at its best when they stay in the political thriller /counter-terrorism lane

They do this stuff so well, it's amazing. I know the show has had some issues over the years. Most notably anything involving the Brody family after Season1. But the work they put in on the political intrigue front is top notch.

How are they going to introduce so many uninteresting characters and story lines in the last 30 minutes of the season?
I think about a quarter of the episode was Carrie in her car driving.

Why should I care about her family drama now? What's the point?. They never talked about her mom before, why now?
I don't care about the lovey dovey stuff between Carrie and Quinn. It wasn't really built up too much before, so I can't take it seriously in the final 10 minutes of the show.
The Dar Adal payoff was wack too. I was hoping his siting in Pakistan was going to be built up into a big thing. But they mostly swept it under the rug. Disappointing.

The only good thing that came out of this finale is the foreshadowing of Quinn kicking ass in Syria next season.
If they're smart, the writers will focus more on the counter-terrorism stuff next time. There was like a 4-5 episode run this season where they did that and the show was unstoppable. Stick to that formula.
