"The Trip to Italy (Winterbottom, 2014)"

Before I even start, I should point out that The Trip, this film's predecessor, is one of my favorite comedies of the last few years. So take from that what you will.

I could watch a hundred of these movies. It's literally just two hilarious dudes talking shit to one another and doing impressions while eating delicious meals in scenic locations. THAT'S ALL.

And no joke, I was CRYING with laughter multiple times in this movie.

It's kind of melancholy at times about aging (just like the last one), but God, when these guys start trying to one-up each other, there's very little that's funnier in cineplexes nowadays.

Rob Brydon might just be the funniest motherfucker on the planet. There's one bit he does here, where he busts out his shtick at an inappropriate time, and simply won't stop, and I couldn't catch my breath.

I loved the last one. I loved this one. Go see it when it drops in August.

Especially as someone who had to read the book in grad school.

However, I prefer these Trip films, if only because they capture such an easygoing pace and tone. So many movies would lose momentum or feel forced in the hands of others-- these guys have the balancing act down pat.

They look alike
Also the trip is on netflix and I confused it for this one
Then I got really confused
This explains it
I'll add it back to netflix

Looks great but I'm wondering if I'd be better off just tracking down the TV show. Same for the first one.

Saw the trailer for Trip to Italy and it looked hilarious. "Where do you stand on Michael Buble?" "His windpipe?"

I'm happy with seeing just highlights of the show, i.e., the movie.

They tend to cut more of the exclusively-British references for the films.
