"Runner Runner (Furman, 2013)"
Fri Oct-04-13 11:42 PM by Frank Longo

- Was this filmed in 2007 and is just now getting released?
- Is Affleck trying to see if he can go from Oscar to Razzie in 12 months?
- Are there actual people who will pick this over Gravity this weekend? Are these the same people who support the ACA but don't like Obamacare ( (c)Kimmel) ?

so many questions...

Personally I think it's just an SNL digital short that was mistakenly shown as a trailer. As performance art it's really quite good.

He wrote Rounders, one of the best films ever.

And he does these screenwriting tips on his twitter page (@briankoppleman) and are engaging as hell with people who tweet him:

http://www.indiewire.com/article/26-six-second-screenplay-tips-from-screenwriter-brian-koppelman-on-vine

these tips are great as hell.

That said, god I was hoping this wouldn't a piece of shit.

But, I keep hearing it is.

2007? it's been on the shelf that long?

Wow.

Technically meets all of the qualifications to be called a movie.

Any other actors, this is a straight-to-DVD joint. It's not *bad*, it just has NOTHING to offer.

I will say, however, Yul Vasquez is awesome in everything. Here, he's given very little to do, but merely for showing up, I thank him.

Plus the lady likes Timberlake and Affleck, so I figured what the hell.

It's honestly not bad in the sense that it's inept or poorly executed. It's just super hollow. It feels like a script that got spun through several writers and several rounds of studio notes until it was diluted as possible.
