Made a wood sorrel tea which will hopefully accentuate the natural tartness of the saison yeast. Healthy beer - wood sorrel has lots of vitamin c, plus it's multi-grain as I'm using barley, wheat, oats and rye. Should be interesting.
And if anyone's keeping tabs, I took my mulberry beer off the mulberries last night, and took a taste in the process. fantastic, surprisingly Not tart at all. Going to age it on the oak cubes for another month before bottling. Will keep ya posted!

just dropped off a few things at the library this a.m. on the way in to the office and as usual swung by the new release GN shelf.
Y'all probably don't remember me blathering about it but yeah, Kings in Disguise was a Depression-era hobo story, originally self-published in the early '80s or so, and it's awesome. No glitz or glamor, but lots of brutality and heartbreak. I had no idea there was a sequel.
In this one, the kid from Kings in Disguise is working as a carny (apprentice to an escape artist, in fact) on a WPA-sponsored traveling circus. C'mon. That alone oughtta be enough to get you checking the ILL for this one.

Looks like the author had developed for the theater first, so maybe the extra time to develop it as a comic benefited. Gripping storytelling, touching on labor unrest, friendship, young love, amputees, loads of subtle history lessons, alcoholism.

Yeah, it is cool BUT... It def ain't the best thing since sliced bread. Prophet and GOD OF VICTORY stay way better. DD, Hawkguy and, Uncanny Avengers too.

Wanted to get that Mighty Avengers #1, cuz I read an advance review, but it's not out for another few weeks. I did get Uncanny Avengers #11, Infinity #1, and Batman Incorporated Special #1, though.
The X-Men books have become so convoluted recently, and I missed 3 or 4 issues of Ultimate Comics Ultimates, and that looks complicated to get back in to as well. I'm beginning to think that TPBs might be the way to go with most things nowadays.
