Huge fan of Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, Thirst) and am excited for his mainstream US debut. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think:

I like what I see, although I would almost like to see Mia with her blonde hair. I know dark hair is the norm in horror flicks, but the dark hair just looks odd on her.

It's not that different from most basic sexual awakening stories... just that this family gets off on a different brand.
The film is all about the imagery and the sound. If that sounds wack to you, so be it. But that's how the character study is told. There's more effective character development in the piano sequence than in most films I've seen this year.
I dug it. Definitely not an all-timer or anything, but totally worth checking for.

But even with it being a style over substance piece, I thought the story worked just fine. It just had that fever dream quality to it instead of delving in to what drove the characters. I thought Mia was aces, as was Goode. As a matter of fact, this might be my favorite Goode performance.
