"Long and Late Movie Show: The Battleship and Dictator Power Hour"
Shira Selkovits joins us yet again to talk Battleship, The Dictator, Get the Gringo, and some Headhunters.
We also do a power hour during the show. More like a power hour 15. I didn't hear from Leighton after the show-- I think he passed out at his keyboard.

We planned on it primarily because our guest dropped out a day before recording so we needed something. We got Shira roughly hours before the show, and since she's super awesome, she thought doing the power hour was a funny idea to do even with a guest.
My previous power hour to this one was probably junior year of college.

She's definitely to be the most regular guest, cuz she's funny, provides new perspective, and, most importantly, is willing to do the show at the last minute, lol.
I should introduce her to OKP. Though I'm afraid she may run screaming.

Leighton, I don't want to lead you down the road to debauchery and ruin, but you kill it everytime you're drinking/drunk during these shows. Maybe switch up your intoxicants every week?

Anyway, weird synchronisity, I was peeing at the same time Shira had to pee, and I think her stream was stronger than mine. on a plus side, do you think that, if we are peeing, at the same time that we are somehow linked, like on some staring up at the same moon at the same time, Alladin steez? She sounds kinda hot...
Yeah I just read that, and while I'm not gonna edit (I'm beyond embarassment w/y'all) I'ma stop - obviously, I'm still a lil' drunk. Besides I thought I detected a bit of flirtatiousness between her and Late.

Power Hour was definitely a creative idea. Best part was Shira peeing and not missing a beat..."DRINK!" rofl
I think it's good that you have frequent guests on, helps keep things fresh and prevents a conversation between just the two of you.
When I drink (rarely) it's hard liquor so shots of beer wouldn't be the worst thing but it's still fun to have to keep up every minute while trying to carry on a show. Leighton started to lose it, his groans were fucking hilarious and understandable, most of us don't have to do it while hosting a show.
And maybe it works due to the amount of responses that you get, but I'm not really a fan of "funniest movie ever," sometimes its hard to tell whether the person is serious or sarcastic as some of the movies were actually funny (to me).
Gross is Right and the Sevens work well though. Maybe you could have listeners tweet their "Gross is Right" predictions too.

Leighton drunk is ALWAYS funny. Always. I'm proud to say I've seen it a couple of times in person. It's awesome.

Yeah, sometimes I read movies that I honestly don't hate, but to call it the funniest movie ever boggles my mind. Usually if I read movies I think are really funny, it's cuz they tanked it (e.g. the lady who called it Bride Mades).

Yeah, I'm always trying to find more ways to get listener responses on Twitter, something more regular than the very basic "Question Of The Week." I'm very open to suggestions. Maybe if someone gets it right on they win some basic-ass prize or something, lol.
