First episode of the new season is out there, should you be so inclined.
It's alright. Some interesting choices. The "Becca dates someone exactly like Hank" storyline was bound to occur sometime. RZA did his thing. Should be interesting to see if he can keep it up. As always, Runkle (which still feels insanely weird to type every time I do it, as my last name is Runkel) shines. Stu and Marcie have some good moments. I like that Karen's remarried. Hopefully that'll give more time for Hank to be Hank. And last, but certainly not least....
....Meagan Good could receive allllllllllllllllll this dick.
That being said... I was hoping for a stronger return out the gates. I'm just praying that it continues the momentum and stays at least better than season 3 (which to me felt like fanfiction the whole season).

So glad that smug as boyfriend got got. Great episode. Runkle is the greatest. That shit had me in stitches. And that scene between the two dudes in the studio was fucking HILARIOUS.
I was hesitant when they announced he was joining the cast. But he is pretty goddamn perfect in this season. He's playing it all just right, and the character isn't written like a stupid rapper stereotype. It toes that line occasionally, but to me, I feel like the writers have handled it well, leaning to the right side of that characterization.
Though, and maybe it's just me... I totally didn't realize that Karen's new husband Bates is the professor of hers that she slept with in college that Hank fought in season 3.

The first season i what hooked me in, loved it. I agree with most of what has been said about Karen and Becca, but I'm really enjoying how Hank and Runkle are somewhat removed from their families (more so than before). RZA and Beggs have been holding it down too. Good shit so far.
And I know I'm late to the party, almost 3 years late, but in the Season 3 finale I don't think Karen overreacted. Just wanted to get that out.

This was one of those episodes that hit too close to home. But I don't like how they handled Cali. Her motivation is ALL over the fucking place. She leaves her one true love after he proposes and then is ready to get it in with Hank on the plane? Spills all that out about how she thinks she might have made the wrong choice, and then just gives up the guys like that? Man, I don't know...

And it's great that Runkle* and Hank both have the info to prove that their actions are just and that they are not the ones fucking up for once, but neither of them will act on it. That parallel growth made them sitting around watching THE IRON GIANT that much stronger to me.
(* - I had to type that five times because my fingers are trained to type it "Runkel", because that's my last name)
It seems like there's one or two big dinner party eps every season and that's when the craziest shit always goes down (Runkle getting stabbed in the hand in s4, Hank puking on Bill's painting in s1, etc.). This was probably my favorite ep of season 5.

I should have expected something like this, they do it every time. Kinda weird how the Sam and Kali thing wrapped up in all of 15 seconds and then no real moment between Becca and her bf after Hank pretty much said 'no mas'.
And that last scene...don't know how I feel about it.
Karen looked great though.

Agreed. I thought the finale was a bit lazy and thin, and the whole Sam and Kali thing being resolved in ten seconds was corny. In my opinion, Kali could have been a dimensional character and they blew it. Of the five season finales, this was probably my least favorite. Otherwise I enjoyed the season.
