I couldn't get past the way the episodes are aired in Spanish overdubbing the Portuguese. Way too distracting. Why not have the Portuguese version available to English-speaking viewers?
I never gave Alice a chance, because I assumed it has the same dubbing annoyances. Let me know if I'm wrong.

I find myself rewinding that title sequence almost every time I watch an ep. I never get tired of it. I don't know why they had to mess with a good thing. All they needed to do was change the graphics and K.I.M.

Tough decision, but I'd give SFU the edge. I like the Epitafios song better, but the graphics in the SFU sequence are so great. Alan Ball is so good with intros - I love the one for True Blood as well.

The title sequence bugged me again though...I don't think I'm gonna learn to love this one...
And the dude with the superhuman sinuses is a little contrived...but that's alright. Lol.
I hope they don't end EVERY episode with the killer walking into the same room as the dude he's about to kill...who will save the day this time?
And I wonder if Renzo's abusive neighbor will have some significance..in both eps now they've included a little scene.

That was a great scene. And yeah, I'm happy that we get more Marina this season. I miss Renzo's dad, though. I wish Renzo was living with him (kinda lame for a guy his age to be doing that, but his dad is disabled, so not a total dealbreaker, lol), so we'd have more scenes with him.

I've assumed it was a dual personality situation all along, but I think it was confirmed in the scene where the killer was at his job and his "twin" was there.

I don't think it's gonna be enough to ruin the entire season for me, but 4 or 5 days after seeing these eps I'm STILL disappointed in the writers. I don't understand how the fuck you can spend much of the season building realistic evidence against this killer, but then have a supernatural character scribble the killer's FUCKING ADDRESS in blood on the floor. COME ONNNN GUYSSSSS, couldn't you have thought of a better reveal? I was all excited for RENZO and MARINA to figure out who the killer was, NOT THIS LAME FUCKING PSYCHIC GUY.
And then the dude w/ the nose pins Diaz's murder on Marina right away because of her scent.....COME THE FUCK ON GUYSSSSSSSS. Don't you understand that shit like that is contrived writing? Keep it realistic!

I hated the angle they brought in with that character from the start. Epitafios is scary enough. We don't need all that spooky shit.

Yeah that was sheer laziness. Marina is a seasoned fucking detective. She's not going to make such an obvious mistake. Clearly she would have disposed of the body and left no evidence behind like she (tried) to do with the Senator.

Once again, this episode had a very quiet, hushed tone. I think it has definitely added to how pitch black and disturbing the season has been....and I can see now why the opening title sequence is more subdued and somber. It hasn't been all up in your face like season 1, it's been quietly digging under your skin.
I have a problem with the final scene in this ep though....why wouldn't that tied up psychiatrist go absolutely nuts right before the killer made her face Marina? What did she have to lose?

I saw people didn't like the new sequence but it doesn't bother me at all to tell the truth.

That whole scene is baffling to me. For several reasons: 1. It was obvious that dude was setting a trap. Why didn't Marina notice? 2. How does the timing work out? One scene the two were having drinks then just a little bit later the Doc is tied up and in the psycho's house. I was under the impression that Marina came home straight from the bar. What gives?

no idea right now. I'd have to watch again. It's prolly just another mistake by the writers though.
I can't believe I'm giving them this much leeway this season, but I still can't help but be impressed by what they've built.
On the other hand, if there's a season 3, I prolly won't watch much of it. I can enjoy this show with all its flaws if Renzo and Marina are still holding shit down, but now they won't be. And there's NO way they can find another female lead who's as potent a character or skilled an actress as Marina/Cecilia Roth.

It'll be tough to do. Especially if it's with Renzo and Detective Big Nose. I'm hoping they just go all out and kill everyone actually.
How many episodes are left anyway? I assumed that tonight was gonna be the finale before I started watching.

If Renzo is killed in the finale, I can't see how the show could possibly go on. And if he's not killed, then I'm with you. I don't think the show will recover without Marina. Renzo is not a particularly engaging character.

Comments in no particular order
- Velasquez looked like an older Robert Downey Jr.
- Some of the music was like a cross between Godfather and Halloween
- When Marina killed herself, I thought she would've gotten another shot at the killer. It looked like she could've easily have shot him before she shot herself. I also thought the show spoiled her death because her house of cards fell. I always correlated her survival to the cards.
- I hate they went Freddy Kruger with Velasquez. I really liked him.
- They NEVER thought the killer could've been a cop or in the police department? I thought they were a little slack about the DNA too.
- You would think that if there's serial killer on the loose that the whole police dept would know that hey...857 St. Anna is suspect. When Luis called the cops on Renzo the first time, I couldn't buy that the arresting officers were completely out of the loop.
- Marina's brother was an interesting addition.
- I'm with kurlyswirl about Marina's final scene. Her life was out of control, she was probably pumped up on adrenaline...never would've thought someone else was there. Do ya'll think it was the killer's plan for her to kill herself? I thought he would've been more upset that he didn't get to kill her his way.
- Why did Renzo shoot at the cops? I was totally confused by that.
- I just knew the killer was going to choke Renzo from the back seat of that car when they were driving to the desert.
- We didn't see the killer die, so I wonder if they're leaving the door open for a Season 3.
- They killed alot of likable characters this Season.
- I hate it when they use children in shows like this. I always think they'll be screwed up by the content.
- Overall, I liked this season (can't you tell by all of my negative comments?) Like Deebot said, even with all the missteps, I couldn't wait to get until the next episode. The cliffhangers were very effective. I also liked the way how they were able to weave everyone's side stories into the main story and it wasn't overwhelming.

Perhaps she didn't want to live anymore, especially after shooting her girl. She and Renzo have alot of baggage, you know. And maybe she had faith Renzo would find the killer anyway. I might be reaching a little, but the fact she didn't shoot him didn't bother me much.

Because he turned into raging Renzo, and didn't care about his own life anymore. But as far as making sense....I'm not sure. Right when it was happening, I figured he wanted to kill them and escape somewhere with the killer on his own. Then I figured Renzo would kill himself.

I said in another post that I prolly wouldn't watch much of a season 3, mainly because Roth is gone and they won't be able to find a female lead like her. And without her, the writing mistakes that riddle each season will be intensified. But I would check out the first few eps to see if I could get into it.

-The shootout at the very beginning was FIYA. Enjoyed it alot. The killer's face in all the mirrors was a nice touch.
-Renzo's tactic to get the killer alone: muy inteligente.
-About the burial scene: It was powerful as is, but I would have liked to see some emotion from Renzo as he was doing it to make it even more raw. Let out the grief for Marina and his dad while he was doing it. Oh well.
And also...what were you guys feeling when Renzo buried him? Especially with the head? Were you like...."YEAH YEAH! GET HIM RENZO! GET HIM BAD!" Or was a part of you like...."damn...this is some fucked up shit. I know this killer is a bad dude, but he's defenseless and certifiably mentally ill." That's kinda how I was, and I thought it gave the scene an extra dimension.

When the scene was happening, I remember when they originally thought his brother was the killer, he was talking about how he wanted the killer alive because he wanted to know why and blah, blah, blah. He didn't care about why by that final episode.

It ended too cleanly. It was damn near a Disney ending compared to last season. At the same time, they didn't really leave us with any interesting characters to carry one for a potential season 3.
Take Detective Big Nose for example. He got off easily. I wish they would have done something to him to shake him up a bit. Since he's so straight laced, it would have been great if he accidentally shot and killed someone then they showed how he had to cope with that.

Episode 7 is EASILY the best out of both seasons. It is one of the best single episodes out of ANY series I've ever seen. This episode alone justifies buying the DVD.
I'm not as excited about the end of the season, other than the 2nd to last.
For anyone who hasn't seen this show, I highly recommend checking it out.
