Justice League.

It's kinda weak, but I've heard nothing but great things about JLU, so I will keep watching.

Anyone know the reason for jump in quality? Did they change writers or something?

i liked the sequence where john stewart, supergirl, and green arrow head to the future and team with the legion. the last arc with darkseid coming back and invading earth is good because supes gets to give a jumbo beatdown.

PRESENT.

and actually, it is technically a kid's cartoon but it is definitely geared toward adults, there is a LOT of stuff that kids won't pick up.

from batman animated-superman-jla-jlu there is a progression in maturity of themes and subject matter.

shit is hot to death tho

and I agree that JLU was more consciously geared towards adults, though it's also quite suitable for kids... but towards the end it was kinda like the superhero version of "The West Wing" meets "The Shield"

Someone asked Dwayne McDuffie if they wrote for older heads on his message board while the show was still on. He said they aimed for 8 year olds which was their biggest ratings segment.

I think it was the Stan Lee effect in play. Make something exciting enough with kids as a target market without treating them like they're stupid and suddenly the college and above crowd love you.

It's more clearly seen when anime is ported over to america.

will go down as one of the greatest fight scenes in all of American animation.

That said, I think my favorite episode was the one with Task Force X. That joint was straight up perfection.

My only beefs with the show was that extremely weak first season and their overall characterization of Batman.

It ranks as my third favorite DCAU series.

Wait, let's not get carried away here...American _television_ animation, sure (of course, this program isn't even animated in America, so there's that).

I loved the end of the ultimen episode when Cadmus tries to take the giant dude back and takes aim with their guns. Wonderwoman and Superman stand in the way and Bats smirks at Waller:

"Mine are bigger than yours."

Priceless.

I enjoyed the Brainac episodes too. Pulling in plot from the Superman Animated series was a serious fix to my continuity addiction.

The episode explaining Bruce Wanye's connection with Terry Mcginnis was my favorite. It was a stretch, but it provided closure to Batman Beyond. Also, when Batman met himself in the future and couldn't believed he had lived that long. GREAT!

It's one of my favorite episodes, but that stretch annoyed the hell out of me.

Also, when Batman met himself in the

Even better was when Batman is holding a Joker over the ledge in order to get info, and the Older Bruce is says "I can't believe I was ever that green".

They meet Jonah Hex and the Justice League of Batman Beyond. And we get the only appearance of Hal Jordan Green Lantern.

I'm like on ep 10 or something.

I'm annoyed at how they're doing Martian Manhunter and the Flash.

Manhunter stays getting punched in his mouth
Flash stays tripping over shit

Other than that it's solid. I'm sure JLU gets is way better.

Well they used to call me Maf
