Common thread in 'Terminator' film Rapper to co-star in Warner Bros.' sequel By TATIANA SIEGEL
Rapper Common has signed on to co-star in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" for Halcyon Pictures.
Christian Bale and Sam Worthington have already boarded the project, which will be distributed by Warner Bros. domestically. Sony will release the film in most foreign territories.
Story centers on John Connor (Bale), now in his 30s, who leads what is left of the human race in a battle against the machines. Common will play a freedom fighter and member of Connor's inner circle.
McG will direct from a script by John D. Brancato & Michael Ferris and Paul Haggis.
Dan Lin, Mortiz Borman, Victor Kubicek, Jeff Silver, Derek Anderson and Jeanne Allgood are producing the film, which will bow May 22, 2009.
Common can next be seen onscreen in "Wanted," starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy. Later this summer, he is set to release his eighth album, "Invincible Summer."

I was just thinking about it the other day, Common's roles have actually been rather non-descript. Maybe they oughta let him raise his voice or punch somebody in the head. Liven him up a little bit..

I'm not arguing, if you didn't like it, that's cool.
I'm just wondering though, what didn't you like about it?
It wasn't great or anything, but I thought it was decent.
Maybe I was biased cause a bit before the movie I'd even met a guy just like Christian Bale's character, right down to him being recently back from Iraq. It was kinda creepy the way he went from joking around and laughing to being right on the verge of doing something really fucked up. In parts I thought Bale was going to go overboard with that, but in a lot of ways he nailed that role. Just my opinion though.
I mean while the original Terminator was very much sci-fi horror (and really even the sci-fi aspect was limited to basically the intro plus climax scene), the two that followed slowly shifted the focus from sci-fi to horror. I almost want to say if they worked a little at it they could have gotten a PG-13 out of T3 (in fact before this post I thought they had) without cutting too much action out. As it was, I think I remember being surprised that they trimmed down some of the death scenes.

I wasn't even sure that was him till they rolled the credits. Homey was nice with the 'copter blades tho. Has he played a pilot in som'n else besides Matrix Reloaded? Lost too?
