the insidious world of back-stabbing roman politics. and the pit.
this show did such a great job with it's characters & plotlines that i worry this season will just be killing faceless romans on non-descript battlefields. how many villas can a handful of gladiators sneak into and destroy.
i still have faith they can pull it off, and the talk of them taking their army to a city should be fun, but it seems like such a different show now.

but it looks like they've done a good job defining this villain as a formidable foe so it'll be interesting to see that rivalry unfold. them taking over a city is going to be crazy though.

they stay getting out of these impossible jams and i love every minute of it. somehow they manage to do it without it seeming to cheesy...you end up rooting for them at every turn. i really thought this was going to be their final stand. this season's been on point throughout.

i mean i know how the story ends. but i feel like they should have ended the show with crixus smashing romans and some words at the end about hoe he died. is that to much to ask
just have never like this actress for whatever reason. then again, as mentioned above, i couldn't see the original actress pulling off all this action stuff this season as well.

...as much as this last episode. At this point they don't need 1up themselves on the crazy kills every week. It was awesome when Glauber swallowed the sword, but it's not as satisfying with random soldiers.

they had to give us that gladiator shit one last time before the series finale. i thought it was dope how they tossed that in. at this point, the violence is par for the course but it still cracks me up how they manage to throw the most random sex scenes up in there regardless of what's going on.

to just nitpick a little bit. i just find it strange that spartacus leads the people to try and clear the mountains so that they can live, but now is suddenly going to turn to fight 2 armies. seems to me with crassus steering the army back to rome to defeat crixus, spartacus would have a HUGE lead on them and could save thousands upon thousands buy just continuing on their course. all season they've emphasized that his decision making is about saving the masses, now it suddenly changes.
i know according to the history books where this is heading and this story can really only end with spartacus' death after a last glorius battle, but just in terms of the story thus far this season i feel that it was a little poorly handled at the end here and kinda doesn't make sense.

i appreciate you mentioning that as i don't remember that bit, however, i still don't like how in the show how he suddenly changes his mind about fleeing with his people to save them and instead looks to put them all at risk by turning and fighting the 2 roman armies.
whatever though, this show is so awesome.

that was dope. i really wish Spartacus could have atleast killed Crassus or badly maimed him before getting speared. i knew he would die but kinda thought they might give him that victory before being taken out. i guess Crassus will be in the spinoff as well...should be interesting.

Just finished it and I must say they finished strong. I still found myself thinking how much better Andy would've delivered many scenes as compared to the new wooden guy. Still was never 100 percent sold.
They really portrayed the large scale battles nicely which leads me to believe they could pull off Caesar's rise quite well. His conquest of Gaul and the epic battles and adversaries he faced in that campaign is worth an entire season at least.
