This album is greatness.. the kid JID keeps growing, his last album (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcGfEhVHeBk) was also really dope. With excellent releases from him, EARTHGANG, Bas, Ari Lennox, Cozz and last year's Lute, the Dreamville gang is to be taken very seriously.
JID has a voice that at one point reminds me of the Pharcyde and is reminiscent of Kendrick the other. He has flows, content and can flex over trap beats just as easy as over some true school soundscapes.

the beats are mostly awful and washed and he's overly concerned with letting the audience know that he knows how to rap. that said, his pen is nice i think he'll release a very good project in the next couple of years

my rap group partner was in my ear about him last week, so i gave his project a gander. some really dope beats on there but i was struck by how easily homeboy seemed to hold down a project on his own, to be so young. i hear the kendrick comparison but its his voice more than anything, apparently this is how a lot of younger dudes rap now, like freestyle fellowship is what they came up on
