Zoey Deutch Rupert Hine's "The Set Up" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55c7rFT2nVs REASON: She is in SET IT UP. This is one of my favorite songs from the early days of MTV. Rupert Hine also did a lot of production over the years, but this song and "Surface Tension" goes beyond the work he produced for others.
Why? The made Billionaire Boys Club , not because of Pharrel, but because they are fo’ real.
Note about the BBC: My friend in high school (in the 80’s) loved the BBC - even though it was a criminal syndicate that ended with Murder. He just liked the idea of lots of money. (Trump voter now.)

Amanda Seyfried ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkL7Fkigfn8 REASON: She's in the new MAMMA MIA! and her role in this one is described this way: "Sophie "Soph" Sheridan, Donna’s 25-year-old daughter, Sam’s stepdaughter/possible daughter, Sky’s wife, Ruby’s granddaughter and possible daughter of Bill and Harry."
Thus, she has no idea who she is related to so one must ask: "does your mother know?" Nudge nudge.
Daveed Diggs Foster + McElroy's "Gotta Be A Better Way" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTBvQMrz2bk REASON: Foster & McElroy are from Oakland like Daveed Diggs, the entire video was shot in Oakland and remains one of my all time favorite songs by them. Daveed walks out as the lyrics "fresh out of college, had a lot of knowledge/now I'm just a scholar, working by the hour" and he will know exactly what that means.
Also, that spot in the video where vocalist Derick Hughes is eating at a fast food place and going to work? 29 years later, I still want to visit that section in honor of the video. When I finally visit Oakland for the first time, I'm going there.

Pierce Brosnan Roy Ayers' "Daddy Bug" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITBrXQKlSuI REASON: He portrays Sam Carmichael in the new MAMMA MIA! and he may or may not be the main character's dad. I had a number of suggestions but I always liked Ayers' Atlantic period (this one was the last of three albums he did with them) so I thought this would be perfect.

Soul II Soul's "Back To Life" https://youtu.be/TB54dZkzZOY?t=1m2s REASON: He has a new health app called Jiyo, which translates to "live life", thus I focus specifically in the second verse:
"Back to life, back to the present time back from a fantasy tell me now, take the initiative I'll leave it in your hands until you're ready"
To me, that second verse always does it for me and is the best lyric in the song, especially "I'll leave it in your hands until you're ready". In other words, one can want help but cannot receive help unless they go and obtain it. Thus, it's a tie-in with this Jiyo app, the idea that everything out there is there to help but one can't get it until they actually go for it. In other words, don't dream about it but do it.
Also, the Hindustani chords during the choruses are a highlight as well, which is also used in "Keep On Movin'", the Indian influence of both of those songs. Both are created by the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra.
