Also - seems to me like the front and back of this video was taken from the 1995 Spike Jonze video for "California" by Wax. I only know this because I have a DVD of all of Spike's Videos... .and this one was always a favorite
That said, the director clearly used it for inspiration as the subject matter is obviously completely different.
Maybe BEP was going for something like 'This is America' with the social commentary. That song was a little more sharp and cutting with its critique of society, at least to me. But its always good when artists speak out on social issues.
The song is okay. The Future-like 'chanting' made it seem like Future did a cameo on the song at first. I guess it was will.
This didn't really sound like a BEP song, but their sound has been different from album to album, so this change shouldn't have been a surprise.

Will said if their last album didn't blow up they were getting dropped so they sold the fuck out... this was right before they got Fergie. They still had the Black girl on stage at the time and she was sueing him to get out of her contract.
Same shit happened with Fergie..lol
they actually weren't bad before they sold out. It's obvious they were BBoys and not rappers. Live show used to be crazy when they were dancing.
