This came as a pleasant surprise. It is a collection of untitled tracks and various take of previous. This stuff is supposed to be prior to him taking off into the avant-garde scene. It’s definitely worth the purchase.

I've only gotten thru one listen, and that while at work, so i haven't gotten to dedicate full attention to it, but sounds fantastic so far. This is a bigger prize than the Trane/Monk set from ten years or so ago..

I didn't get all the way in it. Trane's playing in the first set was so spotty, assuming due to his chemical struggles at the time, that it made it hard to finish IMO.
Rule of "just cos it was recorded doesn't mean it should always be shared" (sure it has historic quality, and deeming it "bootleg", sure, but to me, it kind of sullied the image of the legend's playing... YMMV

As far as I know this is the only studio take of Nature Boy, long a favorite of mine from their live sets (especially the version from “the jc quartet plays” which case out around the time this shelved album was recorded.)
