"Joi's SIR Rebekkah Holylove is here!" Fri Jun-22-18 07:11 PM by BlakStaar
Joi's latest album, SIR Rebekkah Holylove, officially dropped today.
I pre-ordered the album as part of a digital bundle with perks back in February and received the album early yesterday. I haven't had a chance to dig in yet but I know it's going to be good. She's never made an album I didn't like. And I think I might enjoy it more than Star Kitty's Revenge if "Stare at Me" is any indication of the album's direction. I'm glad she worked with Brook D'Leau and I'm glad Brook is working with her. We not getting any more J*Davey so it's dope Brook is expanding so we can continue hearing his wavy production. Btw, he designed the album artwork, too!

No credits. That's one reason why I said I hope there's a physical release. I feel like this could have been released in a more, uh, professional manner but I get that Joi may not care and that this an indie release. Or maybe help is limited?
I wonder if she considered putting her work on Bandcamp, and if she did, why she chose not to.
Lastly, I'd like her to be getting more press than what's she's getting. It's a bit frustrating to observe but I digress...

Look the album up in Tidal. Most of the production is Brooke from J*Davey. Of course Organized Noize did "Kush", as it was on their EP that dropped, maybe in the winter. Only 1 or 2 other producers if I remember right

I discovered this on Joi's Instagram account via stories a couple days ago. She was giving a shout out to several of her contemporaries and their various projects and shows they have coming up.
To recap:
- Georgia Anne Muldrow has several European tour dates coming up - Liv Warfield has a new project with Ann Wilson of HEART - Jack Davey, formerly of J*Davey, is singing on the new Trackademics song, "Mine All Mine." - Latoiya Jackson released a single called, "Vintage Love" from a forthcoming album titled, "Blue Rose. - Kendra Foster (I forgot what she said about her but she probably plugged her new single, "Just Relax," which is a deep house track) - N'dambi has a new project: Air Castle with All Cows Eat Grass - JimiJames has a new song, "Bullshit or Worry" - Rose Gold had a show in L.A. yesterday that Joi was promoting
I'm familiar with most of these artists but I didn't know about some of these new projects.
If Joi fucks with them, these projects are probably worth checking out.

did you ever receive bonus merch or some other exclusive perk?
I pre-ordered the digital bundle and got the album early. I recall that we were supposed to receive other perks? I’m not mad or disappointed; just curious. I think I spent $50 on the early release pre-order and it was money well spent.
I would have paid more money to see her perform.
