Sade and Digable Planets-
Date cancelled on me day of. I didn't go cause I didn't wanna go alone. Missed out a serious mackin' moment there. I've since seen Sade, and if I wanna see Digable, they'll be here next month.
Lenny Kravitz-Are You Gonna Go My Way tour-
Date cancelled two days before the show, and I couldn't find anyone else I wanted to take. I've since seen him...ehh..
Luther-
I had lawn seats. Date didn't wanna go cause it had been drizzling and she didn't want to mess up her hair (that's all she could think of?) I ended up not going...and never seeing him.

so....
If, Jesus Christ willing, I ever get to live in NYC again, I'll always be inclined to see a show with some somewhat older (my generation) Hardcore punk acts, or Black Rock acts, or hip-hop acts.
Going to a big concert in Madision square garden never really appealed to me. But a show at a venue like Irving Plaza is good.
I'd probably see some acts from the 90's alternative rock scene too. Or the 90's trip hop scene.

about a month ago. And as the kids say, "it was lit." Just a totally different experience from most shows I go to where people usually just have their arms crossed and nodding along to the music.
I'm usually a couple of hours away from most shows I want to go to, so I'm not motivated enough to make the drive, but I will if it's an act from overseas that rarely tours the U.S. Aside from that, we have a decent festival where bigger acts come to our town; last year we had Animal Collective, Thundercat, BADBADNOTGOOD, Noname, etc., and I will see a few of the acts if I have the time.

>Who's left for ya'll to see? What group or artist is still on >your bucket list?
there are plenty of acts I'd still like to see, but none that I think I'd go out of my way for at this point.
And I'm the opposite on older (especially bigger) acts... I figured out early I don't really enjoy big shows, especially ones where the setlist is a tired greatest hits list.
I recall a Bloom County strip where a pimply faced teenager is telling the audience why he listens to Deathtongue, spouting some crap. In the background, his parents are preparing to go to a Bruce Spingsteen show. His dad, complete with bandana, yells BRUUUCE BRUUUUUUCE I'M THE PIANO MAN!
I don't want to be at a show with that guy.
Plus I saw a ton of shows when I was young, lots of folks that are dead now. I got nothing to complain about.

That happened to us at a friggin Joe Jackson concert. Guy beside me sang ALL the lyrics to EVERY song in a frantic, anxious, rushed way. It was horrible.
I've seen pretty much everybody that I've wanted to see, that I would go out of my way for, 'cept Jamiroquai, so after this, I really do think I'm done.
the joke there is that Bruce didn't sing Piano Man.

I like Joe Jackson and have I think two of his records... but who on earth knows all the words to every Joe Jackson song? No wonder he was anxious.

I'm not doing the "hip-hop show in a club, standing room only, headliner doesn't go on until 12:30 a.m." show. Fuck that, I'd rather be in bed. Had an experience a few months back really solidified it.
I go to any show, there's gotta be actual seating. And I want to be home at reasonable hour.

A few years ago I caught a Gary Clarke Jr solo set that was awesome. There will be a new great act around the corner. There’s always more. There are also vets I haven’t seen yet. Sade comes first to mind. Metallica Et cetera
Y’all seem to care more about what the crowd is doing than I do, though.

to a whole lot of acts. Guys are unreal. Saw them at a outdoor show a few years ago...the energy coming off the stage was incredible...and that was before Sully hopped on the bongos.
