Producer bob Ezrin forced guitarist David Gilmour to go to disco-clubs to get a feel for how he should play the rhythm-guitar. Also, the cildren-choir thing was done by the producer behind the bands back; he repeated the instrumental backing track and put a children-choir repeating the verse on top and when he played it back to the band, they really liked it-originally, it was just meant to be a sort of "skit"/mini-song like many other songs on the Wall.
