Not as good as Discipline but solid nonethless.
Premier's ability to balance the ruggedness of hip-hop alongside the smoothness of R&B is one of his more underrated gifts as a producer. His productions never felt they were 'pandering' to R&B. It's as if he created a new formula for that type of song.

I thought I was the only one obsessed with that. Back in 2009 I revisited Dogg Food for the first time since college (so 05 or 06) and no lie I listened to "Let's Play House" essentially on repeat for a month straight (I can specifically remember putting it on repeat in my car for my drives to and from work) cause I couldn't get enough of the piano.
I was also fixated at that time on Michel'le's bridge after Daz's first verse. The slight beat change at that time and Michel'le's crooning .... my god.
I wish that era of Death Row could've continued forever. The beats and melodies, combined with the timelessly smooth MCing and singing (Nate/Michel'le/Jewell/etc.) was just too damn good. They had a coolness factor during that 4-5 year period that I don't think any of the individual artists ever matched since.

This is just one of the best west coast songs ever, period.
