Don't know much about this dude. He's played with Solange as her band leader. This is kinda an 80s electro pop album. Definitely some Prince influence. Not sure about his signing, but the music has a groove in the few tracks I've heard.
Granted, I'm a groove guy, so lyrics and songcraft don't stick out to me much. Maybe that's what I thought was missing from his music. I couldn't find much to stick to.

I know some people are kinda "eh" on dude, but I dig his stuff a lot. Loved the Bilal album. Even liked the electronic Kraftwerk type LP. I can't spend a whole lotta money right now, but I'm putting this on the back burner until I can. Drops March 30th.

on his ig he's recently posted videos in the studio with an orchestra. I kinda think he scrapped the album he had because back in July he said he was just a couple songs from being done.
