Feel like it's been a while since there's been a post. Recently introduced some songs to a friend and she was blown away. I played my personal favorite "lover, you should have come over" and the lyrics just hit her like the song does to me every time.
What I love about Jeff is how damn pure his voice is. No auto tune, haha. Specifically I loved how naturally his voice emotes. He doesn't try at all. It's just beautiful.
I obviously love this guys voice, but it can get a little nasally at times as he blends registers. He is definitely on my Mt Rushmore of white boy that can sing (like white boys...as opposed to a James Blake). Along with Sufjan Stevens and Thom Yorke.

Nice list. You probably know this already, but for those who don't, Thom has stated that he actively stole Buckley's singing style after watching his performance where they shared the billing. Thom hasn't outdone Jeff, but it's about the best example of the student learning from the master.

Along with Sam Cooke, he’s just the most effortless vocalist to me.
Obviously the entire Grace album is epic but his performances on Live @ Sin-e and a few of the drafts he was working on for the second album are amazing.
Everybody Here Wants You, Morning Theft and Vancouver showed the promise his second album was going to be.

Sin-E definitely has some gems, but sometimes I get impatient with the talking, haha.

Yeah, I'm so sad we don't get to witness where he was heading.
