P-Funk being an abbreviation for Parliament-Funkadelic, of course.

A better interviewer would have asked a follow up question to get him to expound, but it's a Hot 97 interview, so George's initial statement is basically all you get.

So, where do y'all think George was going with that parallel?

Number of talented solo acts that spun off from the main crew?

Classic records under various affiliate names and side projects?

Coordinated aesthetic (P-Funk with the Afrofuturism and Wu and them with the martial arts references)?

One main genius in charge of a boatload of wild creative cats (George and Rza, respectively)?

What other comparable crews are even in the running for this comparison?
