"Beck - Colors (2017)"

I'm about halfway thru right now, but this is pretty dope. It's danceable pop/rock. The closest comparision to his past stuff is Midnight Vultures, but that album had a great sense of humor and irony, Colors is straight ahead and earnest.

Thinking about it, Beck always takes U-turns from album to album.

Anyways the album is dope.

the type that love the lighter, more electronic albums and the type that love the more-folky albums.

I didn't love Morning Phase. I thought it was good but I fall more into that camp that really liked The Information and Modern Guilt.

I like this new one, give it about a 6/10

But it's just too straight forward for my liking.

WOW was the best track on there and also the most adventurous.

After a couple of listens to Morning Phase, it didn't pull me back in. Maybe if I focused on his lyrics the magic might have been revealed.

Like 4:44, it's not the best from the artist, but still miles ahead of most groups and worth the listens.

There are high points on the album, but the low/dull points far out weigh the good tracks on the new album.

its a little one note... could use some weirder tracks or less straight ahead dance jams to break up the flow IMO. Hopefully it isn't too long for his next record.

Haven't heard the new one yet. If I'm being honest, I've listened to the first five on this list wayyyy more than the rest. I understand that this list may not make lots of sense but it is what it is.

Damn, he's got a strong catalog. Played a good mix of older songs and then pretty much did a block of 3-5 songs from the new one towards the end, they definitely translate well in a live setting.

Band was tight!!!
