Just started really listening to the Talking Heads recently. For some reason I used to confuse them with The Residents.

This is an absolute monumental album for me. When I started to get into 60s/70s rock, I only really knew like the Stones, Zep, etc. Then my older cousin gave me her vinyl collection and the first two Talking Heads albums were included. I listened to 77 and was like what are thoooose? Completely expanded my head to rock music.

Anyway, few things stand out in regards to this album:

"Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town"
first song on the album and an amazing one. When David Byrne sings this line: "Stock broker make a bad investment when love has come to town." The way he says "stock" as "stuchhh" gets me every time.

"Psycho Killer"
I memorized all the lyrics including the French language section (I still know it almost 20 years later). Anyway, memorizing that French helped me with this girl that I met a bar many years later on. She was French and she thought I was some dumb American until I drunkenly busted out the French lyrics from the song. She was impressed and yada yada yada

"Sugar On My Tongue"
Not on the original album but on the reissue of the album. Such a great guitar part on it. Can't believe it didn't make the original album. But in addition to that song, there was a great remix of this tune about three years ago. https://soundcloud.com/djcutso/sugar-on-my-tongue-cutso-edit
