"One of the best underground Hip Hop albums of the last 20 years is getting a prequel.

Blu & Exile have announced a new project titled The Beginning: Before The Heavens, which is being billed as a prequel. The LP serves as a companion piece to their critically acclaimed debut, 2007’s Below The Heavens.

The album is comprised of previously heard and unreleased songs recorded during the Below The Heavens sessions. The duo dropped the first single, “Constellations,” to give fans a preview of what to expect."

But material over 10 years old (probably closer to 15, from what I understand about the recording of the album) makes it tough for me to get really hyped about this.

On one hand, I would be far more hyped for new stuff from them. On that we probably agree.


On the other hand, if its dope...its dope. We celebrate much older sh!t on this board that we have heard 100,000X.

And...maybe the cash they earn from this will inspire new sh!t.


I will support any and all **real, legit** Blu releases in hopes he keeps it up.
