In Jimmy and Terry's Reb Bull Academy interview,
they said Prince pushed them beyond what they
thought possible when he made them practice.

tossing out a copy of Janet Jackson's CONTROL on his lawn

I feel like out of all the band members, Jimmy got it the worst from Prince, because he just KNEW.

Prince definitely has respect for Flyte Tyme and Control b/c i've seen him play 'What Have You Done For Me Lately' in concert a couple of times. HE never sang it, of course - he had one of his woman back-up singers handle the vocals. the same way he treated MJ's 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough'. lol

fuck you.

I wish Prince could have sung those, on stage... once.

I know why he didn't. But still.

Just the idea of him acknowledging the outside world feels like a revelation.

lol

he played lots of them in concert but i think he was throwing shade by always having a woman back-up singer handle vocals on MJ covers.

but he'd sing the hell out of a James Brown cover, among many others. i saw him do that a lot. and he had no problem singing covers of songs originally made by women. so the MJ thing seemed to be shade of some sort. or maybe i'm overthinking it.

fuck you.
