"Milo - Who Told You to Think??!!?!?!?!"
Milo, who released one of my favorite hip hop albums in recent memory two years ago (So The Flies Don't Come) just dropped his new album yesterday. This is definitely one of my favorite hip hop albums so far this year and is very different from his last album. It feels a bit more free (experimental) than his last album because of his use of vocal effects (which he does do live) and it's definitely jazzier. At times it feels Madlib-ish to me. I'd say my favorite tracks so far are "the young man has a point (nurture)" and "rapper (feat. Busdriver)". Might not be for everybody, but dude is definitely one of the best doing it right now IMO. Definitely strongly recommended for people who like lyricists like MF Doom, Busdriver, Open Mike Eagle, Aesop Rock etc.

My patna has been telling me about him for a while. Heard a few tracks I liked but didnt go deep. I would love a long ass road trip (at least 10 hours each way) to digest some albums.

ive been saying milo is a top tier hip hop artist at the moment...this further confirms it. like someone else said, sounds different than STFDC but just as good.

At first I was unsure whether I liked this more or So The Flies more. After spending some more time with it, I think for now I will still say So The Flies, but they are both fantastic records. This is probably my favorite quotable of the year so far:
"In that nest of complex questions/And unapologizing brutalities/Freedom is its own kind of salary"
It feels Baldwin-esque to me, which makes sense as he is clearly influenced by him (he starts off the album)
