When I hear so many rock records that fit into an "expected" sonic template, it is so easy to feel that bands just "naturally" fall into making music that sounds a certain way.

So when something like this seems a little more "immediate" and "gripping," it sort of seems obvious that a band can produce, mix, and master music that sounds "different" but then....can a band really do that, since so many sound locked into a similar-sounding thing?
