"MTV Unplugged the best and worst to you and why"

that unplugged use to go hard. LL COOL J stil the best one for me. Jiggling baby unplugged was gangsta. Nirvana was on point, Lenny Kravitz one was tight.

sting broke it all down and i liked that one.

Maxwell was cool with his.

Mariah Carey though arguably needed more than anyone else for it proved she wasn't just a studio act.

in Heaven. That was a really moving song. His unplugged take on Layla was pretty damn good too.

Did Jodeci (KC and JoJo) perform their cover of Lately on Unplugged? That's arguably my favorite performance ever. And that was also one of the first cassette tapes I got as a kid.

Nirvana's performance will always stand out to me. Just brilliant. Their choice of covers were great too and put me on to some other groups/artists. Alice n Chains's was low key great too.

You're right about LL's performance. Just classic and proved why he's an all-time great performer when he wants to be.

Mariah's version of "I'll be There" is up there as an all-time great song on Unplugged.

Jay Z and the Roots "Heart of the City" was pretty dope too.

Crazy to think that mjb was once a background singer for father mc aka fambody.

I remember them doing an impromptu mashup called next stop uptown, which was included as a studio version on the album

Great song, really captured the essence of uptown and early 90s nyc

...at least in my opinion. They had just came out, and everyone around me hated them, until that performance. I bought the cd the next day and was stunned at how much better ALL of those songs sounded stripped down. Saw them at Lollapalooza a couple of months later and realized they are/were (at least at that time) a much better live band. I still go back to that unplugged at least 3-4 times a year.

Alice In Chains was the shit too, but my second favorite has to be the LL/De La one. That "Jingling Baby" was insane.

Then, STP, Uptown Unplugged (they really coulda left Father MC offa there), and Lenny Kravitz.

Really wish P woulda done one. He mentioned that he wanted to, just never happened. We got "The Truth" instead.

Bottoms up....and the devil laughs..
