I still go back to TPAB a lot.
I am ready for a new Joey Badass album though. He killed that Mask Off beat. That beat is hard as fuck, it's RZAish with it's sample choice. The drums are more updated and trappy but I still rock with it.
EDIT - Kendrick is coming at necks though on here. I love that he's always ready to tear someone's head off if you wanna get cute with him.

as an album. Even if it was just the leftovers from 'Pimp', it kinda stands on its own.
And still, 'Pimp' was such a massive album. I always had this feeling that he emptied out the creative tank to make it. It's so rich! Hard for me to believe he still has some musical ideas left. I'm excited to hear it either way.

But he seems to record every day or think about music everyday. There's a GQ interview he did with Rick Rubin that you can check out on YouTube where he says that he constantly has ideas and thinks about music daily. He even went into the studio with Rick and recorded with Rick after the interview.
I guess his drive for creativity is so strong that he is always able to generate topics and draw from emotional or philosophical depth.

The song is growing on me, but I can't get with this beat. I wonder if the other tracks on this album will follow this template or if this is a one-off kind of how the version of i that was released was different from a lot of the tracks on To Pimp A Butterfly and even different from the version of i on that album.
