"Tonedeff - Polymer (Official Thread, first album in 11 years)"

Officially released tomorrow, but if you ordered it from here he just sent the album out a day early:

"Use Me" Music Video:

Great fucking album. Most of the tracks from the EPs have been beefed up or changed and are way better than before, and the 5 new "Phantom" tracks are possibly the five best tracks on the whole thing.

Loving the shoegaze/early M83 types of sounds in a lot of places on the album.

I struggled to get through a few of those eps.
And I'm not too interested in this album, honestly.
How the fuck does it take him 11 years to put out a project? How many have CL put out in that same time frame?
And let's not even get into the Chico & The Man fiasco...

Know what? Fuck it, i'll check it out.

He took away pretty much everything I wasn't feeling from the EPs for the album. And like I said first post...the five new songs are arguably the best five songs on the album. I think its damn near a perfect album.

I'm looking forward to listening again today while following along with the lyrics.

Tone is always amazing lyrically. I really can't think of another mc that does the technical stuff better. On top of that he can be very poetic.

His production is also crazy on here. Really impressive stuff.

If you buy the album there's a personal note he wrote that explains all the stuff he was going through that made the album take so long. Makes me like it even more, being able to relate in part.

I don't have the album note and short video on hand but that's the gist of what they said.

As always dude is great at putting his verses together and can flow his ass off. High degree of skill. But man, the souless synthy beats get really old relly quick. And starting the album with that five-minute intro was not a smart decision.
