This just flows. No abrupt cut offs or outa place layers, just pure laid back funk! What you did with Them chords was beautiful, and the Way that raw synth bass played along tied it all together! This is more than a beat to me really, so much atmosphere it becomes more of a soundscape, background music for that sunday livin, and I mean that in the mos positive way... Your track reminds me of some Dj Krush shit, talk about hard kicks with loud snares, wow the drums alone is dope but then the way you chopped and played the sample with low fidelity but kept the sound crunchy instead of airey.

I Think this is the most "Whole" Ive heard you - everythings goes great together, and the combo of uptempo breakish drums, that Thick bass pitchdown progression and the vox and synth fx is top if the Line!!! What I gotta stress is... You brought a CUT SESSION!!! A cut session. Scratching. Real scratchin - thats infinite props off that alone! Salute!!!
cut that shit up. i think this is the tightest thing i've heard from u in these beat posts. like prev dudes said, the scratching takes it to the nxt level. and the ongoing vocal sample gives it massive character. good stuff sneaking that gong in there too.
This reminds me of what The Prunes (remember that Danish producers that use to be on New Breed & MoWax) on some downtempo trip-hop vibe (most of your joints have a jazzy vibe to them and this is on the same lines) dig the deep heavy bass with those scratches.

I actually made this when the sample was first posted... I wasnt happy with it and then i heard havocs shit using a similar drum pattern...i got pissed and went back to used the part of the sample most of yall used...but didnt like anything..so i went back to the original and beefed it up a bit...thanks again...i will come back in and comment on each of yours in a bit..
I chopped up the sample, added some drums, the horns and the guitar and a bass line. I was trying to get a vibe of driving on Summer Night riding with the windows down.

short rundown: sampled the bassline, all keys, horns, gong and snare (was NOT easy to get) from "Kalimba". added everything else from my own stash: kick, hats, that discoish synth noise (dunno the name of it, but you'll know it wen u hear it lol) and sum acoustic guitar near the end.
"Semantic Ankh" doesn't really mean anything in and of itself. i've had a long-gestating solo funk project called STANK MACHINE for a while now (a one-man-band type deal), and "Semantic Ankh" is just a cool anagram of STANK MACHINE and one of the possible songs on that project. since this joint ended up bein funky i thought i'd use the title.
hope the 2nd half of it isn't too corny (there are shoutouts to all the June chops participants lol). since i been singin so much thought i'd drop a lazy rhyme too. if i had extra time and/or patience i'd redo the entire bridge/pre-chorus and chorus. was more just trying to nail a certain vibe than be lyrical n shit. hope it worked lol.

YOOOO! You took it there, I knew you would bring the soulness to this sample, you on some Me'shell Ndegeocell steeze with this joint "Semantic Ankh" is dope ass hell.
I made a second beat using that same bassline part but you noticed it too and added a ton of flavour too it, the vocals are amazing and fit the track soooo well, you blowing my mind right now.

We all delivered very differently technically, which is natural and welcome around here still, but Im beginnin to feel like Weve all reached a certain point in our musical progression that allows for REAL dope shit all over the Line!!!
