Jay-Z hasn't made a song/verse in years that I'd like, dude use to be nice but now he's just rappin' for rap sake not inspiring and he's got no energy when he raps and it shows.
Yeah LL has done plenty commercial or sold out songs but what I like about him is that even on those commercial albums he did he always had at least one boom bap joint where he's just spittin' some ill lyrics for the homies and comes off better than Jay-Z's recent material all day; but I will admit that last indie album LL did "Authentic" the music was corny but lyrically he still was angry on it.

Like the poster said up top, LL has the better album out of all of their catalogue, and the more essential songs.

Worse than even Jigga's later career stuff.
Seriously, the album he put out that was even sorta okay was almost 20 years ago. The last song I've felt by him was released in 2000. Jay-Z hasn't exactly been shocking the world since 2007, but I found MCHG more listenable than anything LL has put out in decades.
Again, LL's early stuff blows Jay's out of the water. His peak was better, but man, that fall was steep.

He's been around THAT long. I don't expect him to be able to kill an album now but he should release music if he wants to. I don't know if Jay has an album better than Momma Said Knock You Out.

That all I ever want: good music. Shit, I'd cop a, MC Skat Cat album tomorrow if it was good.

Maybe... I've never look at "Mama Said..." as pinnacle LL. Jigga certainly doesn't have an album as good as "Bigger and Defer" or "Radio." He does have a bunch on par with or better than "Walking With a Panther," which always getting judged harshly somewhat unfairly.
