"MC Shan vs. KRS-One: Round Two 2016 Edition (swipe)."
Looks like Shan is tired of KRS' claims of taking him out over the many years and he's now had enough. He spit some vitriolic lines at the Blastmaster about how he could've easily got at him on that street tip but Marley told him to chill.
Of course KRS wasn't going to take that lying down and has clapped back with a couple of verses. Who got it in your own opinion?
KRS One Releases New Diss Song Against From MC Shan After Intimidating Phone Verse April 9, 2016 by Vance Brinkley News.
KRS One has released a diss track against MC Shan after Shan reported that their “Bridge Wars” rap battle never happened on the Murder Master Music Show last week. According to Watchloud, Shan reported:
“Me and never battled, ever. I don’t care ; any Hip-Hop historian knows a battle is two cats on stage, doin’ what they do. I just went off on him a couple of months ago. He’s my man and all that, but yo, I’m tired of sayin’ that took me out, when you ain’t never did shit!”
The rapper then followed up by releasing a phone verse to once again challenge KRS One in a battle last week.
However, KRS then replied with his brutal diss record “Still Huggin’ A Nut”, which actually brings up the lost that MC Shan supposedly took 30 years ago during the Bridge Wars.
For those of you who didn't click the link, here are the videos of the battle:

The rhyme wasn't bad but had too many curses & corny lines, it sounds too personal but not enough lyrical jabs, while KRS comes back with a quick diss track that basically gets to the point, and destroys Shan all over again.
Maybe if Shan actually sat down put his rhyme to a beat maybe it would've had a better impact but that wouldn't have won him over.
I liked Shan 2nd and 3rd album but he's one of those kats who never progressed since the 80's cause he cut his career short while KRS continues to make music.
This just seems like a boxing match where they tell the kat who gettin' his ass beat to just stay down but keeps wanting to get up again.

I'm not surprised his verses are still sharp, but his voice holding up after all that drug use is a minor miracle. He's always hadbonevof the best emcee voices ever.

cats that say otherwise are *Fred G Sanford shakey hand*
BUT
the problem is now, as it was 30 years ago that KRS's verse was/is much better-SAME AS IT EVER WAS!
KRS stomped him out!
it literally seems like KRS was/is 5 years ahead of Shan rhyme and he will never be able to catch up, I don't know if its that or that KRS just kicks himself in 8th gear when he gets in battle mode
BTW my 2 cents is the battle is staged/premeditaed. I doubt Shan just woke up 1 day with an ephiphany to battle KRS again. The probally discused it at Starbucks over a Grande Mocha Latte.
Nevertheless I like that in them either way. Bringing back the essence of real MC battles centered around dope rhymes instead of other factors is a win/win
