^^but I think this is the best way to word the sidebar I was gonna write about TLOP. There are tracks on there that keep it from being the best, but Ultralight Beams, 30 Hours, No More Parties, Famous, Father Pt. 1, Waves, and some others stay in rotation and won't be leaving this year.

I enjoy it as well but I still Vote Malibu on this. Totally unexpected for me since I never followed Anderson.Paak at all and didn't give Compton proper spins.

Yeah I'm surprised it didn't get much traction here. I'd never checked for a Rihanna album before and stumble on this an loved it. Probably #2 behind Paak for me.

with second place going to David Bowie - Black Star and third going to Esperanza Spalding - D+Evolution. All three of these records are great IMO, Dr. Lonnie Smith with extremely dope jazz with fresh takes on some standards ("My Favortie Things") and originals, David Bowie with what is probably one of the best last albums ever (RIP), with some standout songs even in his crazy catalogue and Esperanza with what I think is easily her best and most adventurous album to date

The Unconditional Love alt should have been the album version but it would have been too much so early in the album, and i actually love the sequence through elevate or operate. Those 10 cuts would have stood up to bowie, but bowie did equal greatness in 7!! He also led fearlessly with the 9 minute joint

i actually cut the og Unconditional from my ipod because of the alt. it makes it unnecessary IMO and "Good Lava" and "Judas" flow into each other so well. first seven songs stronger than the last seven too, IMO
those are easily my two least favorite songs on the album too, though I'd say they are good tracks, they are definitely a step down from the rest of the record, the Bowie record on the other hand, even single song on it is better than those two.
