Siri just found 'Around the World' on my phone and now I'm reminded how much i love OLD Daft Punk. 'Old' meaning their first 2 albums. I have no love for the last 2 studio albums - Human After All and Random Access Memories. I love it when Daft Punk makes HOUSE records. I'm not here for the rest of it. And they make such GREAT House that their abandoning the genre breaks my heart. But at least I still have those first 2 albums and the live albums and a remix album. Plus several singles, including 'Music Sounds Better With You' which is not all the way DP (only one of them is on it) but is still one of the greatest House records ever made.

given my stated musical tastes... for similar reasons. I liked them doing house and shit like that first and foremost, and also the Discovery album (which might have been the beginning of their road down toward music like RAM).

i agree that album was the beginning of their House abandonment. but at least it still had some str8-up House tracks on it - great ones too. and their forays into Disco (the albums title is Disco-very) and R&B were pretty effective.
