"Hip-Hop Albums you Always play from Start to Finish"

Name them.

No skips.

And you never reach for the album just to listen to a certain song.

Every time you listen, you play from opener to closer.

Can't lie...sometimes I go straight to Can't Wait and sometimes I take it out after that song. I do love the album and probably is once again my favorite by him.

I tried to listen to his 2 most recent albums and it was painful. Bubba can still flow but he's doubled down on the country-rap thing. He's all in. And even when he & Timbaland blended it, he maintained a good hip-hop feel.

Not anymore. His stuff is flat-out country rap, with a huge emphasis on the country.

I love "Deliverance" too and I'm hoping that most of the show will be from that album.

It's one of my favorite albums ever, but I don't listen to it as much as that would imply because I only turn it on when I know it won't be interrupted.

I already feel that forming with To Pimp a Butterfly.

I've never been the sort to skip songs or whatever. If I'm listening to an album I'm listening to it, whether that's Nas or Gorilla Zoe.

I suppose in the digital age that complicates things a bit; I primarily shuffle my whole library these days. But if I go to listen to an album, whether I've heard it before or not, I know going in I'm not skipping anything. Even if it's overlong and filled with trash like, say, The Massacre.

It's Jewelz for me. I love Word...Life as well but I feel 1-6 is so much stronger than the rest that at times I don't listen all the way through and other times I put on the title track, Born To Live, or Time's Up alone.

That intro is so bad, but sometimes good for a laugh. And the hook just doesn't do it for me. The beat is too much too, but it's tolerable. Nas brings it of course, he was on fire that entire album.

The rest of the album, I play straight through.

Wish I could say the same for Cuban Linx but the length at times has me selecting Incarcerated or Glaciers or Verbal at times.

Do you see this more as a good thing or a bad thing?

Are these albums primarily so dope to you that you just need to play from start to finish or is it more of a case that the album has a very specific vibe and if you're in the mood for listening to it then you'll play it through but you don't play it that often?

most of my music listening happens at the gym...so I don't want to be selecting individual joints constantly. If I don't have a feel on what album I want, I'll do Pandora or Spotify radio and just throw in an artist that comes to mind.

80. "only The Artifacts 2 albums. That's really it"
In response to Reply # 0

And that really stinks because there are so many classic albums that I love but I always skip a song or 2 or 4. Like I noticed with The Artifacts albums, I can play them allllll the way thru and listen over again. There still isn't any hip hop album I can thoroughly listen to all the way thru without skipping something.

87. "None, There Has Never Been An Hip-Hop Album To Accomplish That"
In response to Reply # 0

Oh I have plenty of hip-hop albums that I love almost every track even the instrumental or down south bass ones, and it's even some that I consider classic but the one thing I've noticed is that for every album I praise or put above all, it's always that one track (sometimes an intro, skit, or shout-out song) that I had to skip every time.

Now I will say when you first listen to an album you had to listen to every track to get the gist of the album and even a few re-listens but after that you skip the less likable songs even if it's just one.

I can list my top 50 personal favorite rap albums expanding from the late 80's to maybe 2005 and it will be not one hip-hop can listen to straight thru without skipping at least one song.

You go down this post and note which joints you skip on some of the album listed.

Not saying I agree with them all but I find it odd for a hip-hop fan to not have a few albums they can rock straight through.
