I still feel like that album dropped last year. I love that joint. "Move" still gets me hyped like when it first dropped. I fucking love that beat so much.

Whole album is fire flames.

Only song I am kinda down on is "You." But it's not cause I don't like the song as a standalone. I like the subject matter, and love how he approached it. I just think the *tone* of the song doesn't fit with the rest of the album. Even songs with similarly darker subject matter (namely "We Fight/We Love") still has upbeat production which fits the tone of the remainder of the album. "You" is jolting, especially in the middle of the album, to this day.

But yea - minor gripe for a masterful album.

Let me be clear..again - I don't dislike the song. I actually really like it. I just don't think it fits the tone of the rest of the album.

But at this point I think it would take Ali Shaheed working in tandem with Tip. He has a lot of great musical ideas that would work great in the Tribe idiom. Everything great he's done on his own I could hear Tip and Phife trading bars over.

I don't think he produced that much for Tribe, he may have had "some" input but I give Tip majority of the production credit cause of the work he put in with all his beats during that time. Ali did a remix for Scritti Politti that was dope.

and some Eric Benet stuff for the second album, along with the bulk of Lucy Pearl. He also had a solo album with a lot of really great stuff on it. He's done more one-off work than he has whole projects, though, but in the time Tribe was broken up he learned to play bass and guitar.

I can understanding wanting a new Q-Tip album but that last one wasn't as good as "Live At The Renaissance" but to me his 1st two albums were his best and don't see him doing anything better down the road.

I rather have another ATCQ album, all three of them have done solo albums and explored their sides by themselves so it's time to come back together and do another album.

Kamal The Abstract was recorded in 2001. Live At the Renaissance was his last album. I don't need to hear Phife rap anymore or anything from Ali. They haven't really done much since the break up, and with all these platforms to release music through seems to me if they were serious about music they'd have a voice somewhere. It's seem like they only in it for the pay day if it happens

Like I said four albums of dopeness, "Amplified", "The Abstract", "Open" that got revised a year or so later as "Live At The Renaissance", the both albums got revisited again and became a new album "Renaissance"

I've been hearing songs from this new album or should we say old since it's been done for a year or so now but not released yet (again Tip?), yeah I want that shit to drop, but if a new ATCQ is in the plans, I want that to be recorded and released as well.

I don't see a Tribe album as a possibility at all. Would be great to see what they could come up with nowadays, but Tip shows zero interest with revisiting the group with new music.

As far as his solos, I'd easily put Renaissance above Kamaal The Abstract. That one has some moments but it needing editing badly. Only thing about Renaissance that bothered me was that there were older and newer tracks mixed together and you could tell,

he sounds ok on that Nutshell joint he previewed last week. I think the vibe between the two MCs is so sweet that anything they make together would at least be interesting.

I'm excited for a Phife ep as well. Hell, Jarobi flowed alright with Evitan, so it would be cool if just he and Phife did some stuff.

That said, The Last Zulu really needs to shart showing itself. It's been too damn long. Maybe beginning of 2016?

On his Beats show? He has a helluva outlet to start promoting the shit if he ever decides to release it. Start playing snippets on the Beats show, then exclusives and such. Oh well, more waiting.

And Tip doesn't seem like the type to go that route at all. Hell, I'm doubting whether his album even comes out this year again. He'll give and interview and say Summer 2016, the another in the Summer saying Winter 2016, and so on and so on....
I am just so curious what direction he'll go after the odds and sods feel of The Renaissance. I love the album but several joints were old and reworked, I really would like to hear this all new project.

And I'm not referring to the Beats One show he has. Doesn't he regularly DJ for clubs for a considerable amount of scratch? That, coupled with some of the troubles he's had with major labels could be why he's hesitant towards releasing new material. Not saying I wouldn't welcome more material from him, but that could be why he's not motivated towards releasing new material.
