they play side a/b, then a break..i remember hearing the crowd cheer and hearing the start of "isn't she lovely", i was still in line for my drink and frankly, was in no rush to get back because i've never crazy about that track. so i get back back to my seat, stage is brightly lit, everyone's dancing to an extended jam.. it finally finishes----then lighting gets decidedly darker (with mostly blue on the stage i remember)..and then that opening chord from "joy" with the strings (i'm getting goosebumps writing this right now) swelling up..and stevie just killed it. for me, that's when the show took off to a new level (and didn't let up til the end).
i still have a stupid little (but clear sounding) 20-30 sec video clip in my phone of it that i'll randomly come across and rewatch every couple months.

YouTube is wonderful for this. I can look at some clips from when I saw King Krule a couple years back and find myself in the crowd. That's a beautiful thing to be able relive those moments, even if it is only 20 or 30 seconds at a time.

Another Life - Mr. Archer
He got me with that one. It's like the audio explanation of the story before Prince gets with the girl on Adore. Like the 'I was rappin til the sun came up!' part.
I always had a habit of making a Winnie Cooper out of chicks I dug. So I'm a sucker for 'got a crush' songs in general. I mean...making the leap to hint that you and a girl were connected in another life is hinting at a 'deep inside' type of crush. Predisposed/destiny. Astrology. Spritual. Mumbo jumbo of all kinds to connect you to somebody. AKA the kind of connection I made up in my daydreams for the women I dug the most. Haha.
Really Love isn't far off either. 'I love you deep when you come to by bed'. 'When you look at me, I open up instantly'. Yep. Do doo waaahhh.
Both blew me away live as well. I'm glad I took my black @ss to that show. Really...that whole show was grand. The new songs are so 'confirmed' in that live setting. He can add or take away as much as he wants and they all work so much for me. The 'you gotta moveness' of them just work. Til Its Done!

It sounds just like the imagery Thom talks about in the song:
The breath of the morning / I keep forgetting / The smell of the warm summer air
I rarely find a 'pop' song heartwarming, and while the lyrics are tried and true Radiohead irony, the music is simply amazing,
Also Earth, Wind, and Fire 'September' because it's a perfect dance song.
And lastly, 'Groove Line' from Heatwave because it was the first song I loved. I think I was three when I heard it.
There's this Meshell song, 'Love Me Down' which made me feel something like a low grade high yet also make me cry at the same time the first time I heard it. The guitars reminded me of 'Maggot Brain' which made my jaw drop the first time I heard that song.

songs of all time. It really resonates with me, not just because it's a great feel good song, but because of good memories associated with it. It's one of those special songs for me, and Heatwave have always been my musical sunshine.

I'm getting choked up thinking about this.
When he toured a few years ago and basically did the entire Innervisions album...as soon as he got to the hook, tears raced down my face. Damn what a moment to be in love with music.
Everytime I hear that tune, I just want to kill a six-pack and go out chasing sleazy chicks (I won't, I'm in a happy relationship ut when I hear songs like that, I just want to go out and rip it)...
bTW, do you like Josef K??? Kind of off-topic I know but whatever. My personal favorite brit-act from that era is the fire engines but overall; slim pickings for me in england at that time... JAMC kind of saved england... unfortunately, they were too alone...
That said, I like both the postcard and the later sophisto-shit, just referring more to "rock" (tm) in general...

That's the only one I can think of right now that really gives me chills. The music sounds hauntingly beautiful to my ears, yet it sounds deep and dark. I don't relate personally to the lyrics, yet when I'm listening to it I find myself strongly empathising with anyone who may be identifying with the song. It's almost like I become the person in the song.
That song has such a strange effect on me, yet it doesn't make me feel down or depressed or anything. I know many people who don't want to listen to it because it makes them feel gloomy. I suppose the emotions that the music elicits is what is causing the tingles to take place.
