"eBay sellers and shipping vinyl: Worst experience?"
Just paid $75 (plus $12 in shipping) for a rare record (Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo vinyl given to people who completed some sort of scavenger hunt at the Minneapolis Museum of Art) and dude sent it to me in a bubble wrap bad with no cardboard. It's super bent. It's worth *maybe* $25 in this shape.
I payed $87.00 for a Moloko records (Statues.....awesome if you've never heard it). Shit was shipped from Canada in basically a grocery bag with tape around it. It was all the way fucked when I got it. I disputed the sale and got my money back and the dude didn't even want the record back so I still have it. The actual LP is in good condition though so that makes it a little better. I'd still rather not have the money and a non beat up sleeve too though.

I can't speak to the quality as I haven't received yet but I just paid extra for priority shipping and it was sent media mail. I asked what the deal was and he said it would have been too expensive to send priority mail. Then why have the extra charge/option for it?
Meanwhile I am very active on Discogs and haven't had any issues with shipping quality. Most of those guys know what they are doing.
The nice thing about eBay is that more often or not people don't realize the value of what they are selling. They are cleaning out a basement or something and never heard of Discogs. I got a sealed copy of the Minstrel Show in a $15 lot, but that record goes for $150+ on Discogs.

...the '72 Arthur Verocai self-titled album I copped off ebay on my birthday, January 25th, didn't arrive until early-March because although the seller in Belgium was thankful for my purchase and prompt payment, they wouldn't be able to ship it until they returned from their 3-week vacation in Lebanon. *__*
__ I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!
Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno

It was the first record I bought from Sandbox Automatic, it was Kool Keith's SEX STYLE. It arrived in my mailbox, and I mean literally, IN my mailbox. It was in a bubble mailer without cardboard or any level of protection, and it was bent. I was lucky the record didn't snap, which means the cover was not in mint or even VG+ condition. The point is, I bought it new and even with the cellophane, it looked like it spent time in a thrift store or garage sale. I have nothing against thrift store records, trust me, but I don't want to order new and expect for it to arrive like shit. Outside of the cover, the record survived and I still have it to this day. I did order a bit more from Sandbox but I was like "hey, ship my stuff a lot better or I'll not order from you again."
