If you could go back in time armed with the knowledge of music that you have today in 2015, describe ONE self-promoting/greed infested thing that you would do

And 1 rule… You still have “ONLY” “YOUR” abilities and or talents. If you don’t play drums now or never did, you cant go back in time and be the drummer for The Roots!
Im talking about straight jacking history from someone with this one!
What crew would you try to join/befriend in order to be considered a “legend” today?
-For example: I’m pretty sure I’d be lurking around Queens and or Long Island in hopes of joining Tribe or Dela… Actually, I’d join Dela and then worm my way into as many Tribe features as I could(especially on the 1st three albums. I’ll let Consquence keep is shine on BR&L)
What dope verse, lyric or chorus would you go back and write before the true owner could do it?
I’d probably find a way to weasel my way into assisting with the writing duties of some songs on the Thriller LP($$$) or maybe Lauryn’s Miseducation LP($$$). I’d hit her with ideas like “Lost Ones”, “Zion”, “That Thing”…etc that I have for her album but insist that she sign an iron clad contract before moving forward.
What samples/beats/breaks would you go back in time and unearth? I’d probably go make Shook Ones and then play it for Mobb Deep a few weeks before Havoc even thought about working on the beat.
What dance would you go back and introduce before it’s original creator? Who would you try to “sign” to a contract?

I played the trumpet, WAY back in the day. I know The Roots only had Tuba Gooding, Jr. as a horn player, but playing with a band like The Roots would have been cool.
Either that or be like Roy Hargrove, Jr. and play on a bunch of hip-hop tracks with progressive artists.

That was the hottest time for those types of artist to be included in hip hop stuff. Especially live instrumentation stuff and live shows with a backing live band.

the name (and obviously how it worked throughout several decades, in retrospect) could keep someone like me who likes music with a certain "substantial flair" (to put it awkwardly) having a "hot" and "flashy" label that could "boost" the artists on the label.
For instance, think of how the Columbia label just doesn't fit a lot of "hot" or "flashy" artists. So the name "Columbia" just suggest boring sleepyness. I could obvious avoid that with "Elektra".
