the first Janet album is actually pretty good. one song she's singing over Leon Sylvers (i.e. SOLAR) production. Rene & Angela handle a lot of the production on that album as well. I think the idea was to have her sounding a little like Mike (Off The Wall Mike, that is).

though she wasn't JANET yet. I think the 5 albums ahead of it cover her "established" period pretty well.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

everything after "Velvet Rope" was pretty much garbage...just my two...yeah you can say I'm salty about her fall from greatness...

i guess i'm alone in liking damita jo. i don't think it's one of her best, and the low points are pretty awful; but i didn't expect to see it near the bottom on everyone's list.

"When We Ooo" and "Feels So Right" 2 of my favorite janet songs EVER

and the singles "all for you" "someone to call my lover" and "doesnt really matter" are light fun pop janet singles in the vein of "escapade"

side note... the DJ Premier remix of "All For You" is one of the most underrated remixes of all-time...

in all honesty aside from rhythm nation and control she is truly a greatest hits act singles act 101 IMO
