this is where I always differentiate "best" "favorite" and "greatest" because each will garner a different top 25 list in my opinion.

A few post-2000 albums have cracked my top 25 "favorite" list but it's hard for a post-2000 album to overcome that nostalgia vibe the 90s albums have for me.

Which answer are you looking for?

Favorite, Best or Greatest?

i can tell you right now that MBDTF would make the list. WTT would probably make it, or be no further back than top 30. One of Kendrick's albums would probably make it too. that would probably be it for now form the 2000's for me.

I'll preface this by saying that no album that came out before "my time" is on here and that's simply because I'm not emotionally tied to any of those albums. You would find It Takes A Nation and Paid In Full among others if I was doing a Greatest Albums list but I'm not. This is simply my Favorite Albums list...as of today. Obviously it's ever-changing...as it should be. I labeled the post-2000 releases.

Illmatic - Nas
ATLiens - OutKast
The Main Ingredient - Pete Rock & CL Smooth
Moment of Truth - Gang Starr
Liquid Swords - GZA
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx - Raekwon featuring Ghostface Killah
The Infamous - Mobb Deep
Midnight Marauders - A Tribe Called Quest
The Fix - Scarface (2002)
Black On Both Sides - Mos Def
Tetsuo & Youth - Lupe Fiasco (2015)
Donuts - J Dilla (2006)
Stakes Is High - De La Soul
Aquemini - OutKast
Like Water Cor Chocolate - Common (2000)
Game Theory - The Roots (2006)
Skelethon - Aesop Rock (2012)
Ready To Die - The Notorious B.I.G.
Jewelz - O.C.
Doe Or Die - AZ
It Was Written - Nas
Dah Shinin' - Smif-N-Wessun
Soul Survivor - Pete Rock
Never Better - P.O.S. (2004)
The Good Fight - Oddisee (2015)
