"Prince: "Instrumental version" question..."
Fri Sep-04-15 05:56 AM by Voodoochilde

From many many year old posts you may or may not know that "God: Instrumental version" is one of my all time favorite Prince tracks ever...i think that one track showcases the best of the purple squirt (being short in stature too, i can call him that)...everything about this one is on point, the composition itself is fantastic, each instrument on its own is KILLING, and the arrangement/production is perrrrfect....its a gem of gems in the Prince catalogue in my opinion...

anywayz...

i've always 'assumed' it was one of the tracks where he played all (or most) of the instruments himself, but in my old age i can't recall if i ever read the ACTUAL production credits for it anywhere that officially lists who played what...

does anyone know where i can find that info?

have you listened to
her stuff?

yeah, they seem o think it was probably a solo recording too...
what a track track. its one of those where, sometimes when i listen to it, i'll zone in on a specific instrument and focus on it all the way through ....today i was focusing on the drums ....damn that shit is nice....the kid was KILLIN it back then

I'd really like to know the setup he used.
Of course we'll never know...
