"Prince drops new tired song "Stare" on spotify"

I just love that Sherman Hemsley beat mixed with that Nipsey Russell groove. Ain't nothing like some Flip Wilson funk With a touch of Ben Vereen soul.

You have to sign into facebook or use a E-mail address to hear it.

prince stays burning that fire of being wack. he is gonna have
John Witherspoon saying keep on that Bang, Bang,Bang Jams.

right about now prince and Georgio can take turns practicing for the next olympics tossing Prince's last 25 plus years of discs as Frisbees and no matter what direction you toss those discs into
they still stay wack.

this is gonna be the theme song for byron allen's comeback tv special.

He and Sherman Helmsley could pick up a Stella sitting at the bar alone on a Friday night around 10:35 and make it all about the pimp sandwich! And then in the morning they give her a promo copy of the song on a cd with a muffin basket! And that ol' jive turkey who cleans the rooms wouldn't know what happened!

fuck you.

Ole Prince can play this song in the court to please the king. Make him do a lil two step like he from Detroit.

This the kind of song that would give all of the serfs joy for like 2 minutes! That ole turkey-head King certainly never did! Lol. They might forget they have the plague and are being raped by the royals.

fuck you.

Do you and Mistermaxxx spend your day looking for things to hate?

Did Prince not sign an autograph? What is it that upsets you two that a 57 year old artist is still trying to record new things?

I don't understand - you two come off as to really disappointed-with-life internet nerds who may still live in their mom's basements.

I think you should ask Maxxx about our past on the old Rick James message board, when I use to post there as Otan. I was the biggest Prince fan there was and me and Maxxx would get into it real bad. I just don't fool myself anymore about the junk he puts out now. I'm still a fan of who he use to be.

I hear you because none of the music he's releasing right now compares to the awesomeness of the old stuff: Gotta Stop Messin About, Horny Toad, Power Fantastic, Anna Stesia and the list goes on and on.

I do appreciate some of the material he's still releasing but I feel you... he's boring as can be and there are so many other great and exciting artists out there right now.

I guess I'm too busy to take a crap on the material like 'Stare'. It's not worth my time - there are still some gems from recent years like Clouds and Groovy Potential but that's me. His fanbase is all over the damn place in terms of what they like about his music (I'm not talking about those freaks at prince.org who think everything he does is gold).

It's Prince, his new stuff will never be like his old material but that can be said for almost every rock, r&b, rap, jazz artist these days, nobody is trying to make their old shit cause to them it's just that old shit in their minds so they think people want new sounding material.

Anyway, yeah I wish this was on some "let me release something the fans have been thirsty for" but it's basically another average now-Prince jam, but it's still good for what it is though.

I kinda agree. The song doesn't really take off for me either.

But, I am glad P is still trying as I really dug last year's AOA.

And as folks tend to say, he usually has at least 1 or 2 solid joints on the worst of his post-peak albums so I'm still looking forward to whatever his new album is..

With the consistent hate and eagerness to criticize anything new that Prince puts out (from both fans and non-fans), it seems like folks would rather see him go the Frankie Beverly and Maze route of doing nothing but rehashing the classics year after year.

Or just go off in a corner somewhere and not do anything.

Damn, the man's almost 60. I hope he keeps putting out music until the day he dies.

I'm sure there will be at least one good song on whatever he drops in 2035.

This is exactly how I feel about the whole Prince thing these days - it's good to hear that he's still seeking new sounds.

I feel you!

I would also like to see him keep recording, but with effort. I would like to see him really TRY, instead of slapping crap together and calling it an album.

What gives you the impression that he's not trying?

I'm gathering that the well has run dry to a large degree combined with the idea that we are no longer discovering who this artist is combined with all of the nativity being gone now that he's in his late 50s.

I don't think he's hungry like he used to be.

Lyrics: "Everybody jam, 'cause this party's going ham."
That alone tells me he's not trying. It's like he needed a word that rhymes with jam, so he just put ham, despite the fact that it makes no damn sense.

Or....

It tells u that we r dealing with Prince....

The same dude that on his album just last year gave you a highly introspective lyric like this ("I never wanted a typical life
scripted role...trophy wife/All I ever wanted, to b left alone/See my beds made up at night/Cuz in my dreams I roam...") also said this fluffy, party-time line on the very same record ("Million dollar party to their nickel and dime/Another mother further you're committing a crime...")...

With Prince u get "The Ballad of Dorthy Parker" AND "Housequake"...It's been that way for years. Like I said, I find "Stare's" actual production a bit too restrained for my taste...But I'm not going to go crazy trying to breakdown why the old man mixes ham and jam.....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

it usually refers to an episode of The Wire - 'Hamsterdam' - where the police allowed criminal activity to go on w/in a confined area as part of an experiment. in other words they allowed ppl to go wild/crazy. 'going ham' has been used to mean 'going crazy' as a reference to this episode.

and Urban Dictionary says 'ham' is an acronym for 'hard as a motherfucker'.

fuck you.

Hard as a motherfucker? Sammy Davis Jr.'s The Candy Man was harder than this.
