How does Royce get all this dope beats for SH & Prhyme...and then has to rap over BS like this. It sounds like something from the last D-12 album. SMH.
Just looked it up, Em produced it...that explains it.

When Em pulled up the beat and started bobbing his head to the music, if Em even bobs his head to music, I feel like he might not lol...
Royce had to be like WTF is this trash? I'm gonna flow crazy all over this crap because you and I can but don't get it twisted... I do not approve of this bullshit. I just did an album w/ Preem. Alchemist, Araab, BoiWonda, providing joints while Just Blaze is exec producing my crew's album because consequently the vision you had us execute for OUR first album played us.
Of course they don't come out and say Em fucked us, but you can hear it in SH interviews during the rounds they've been making in promoting the soundtrack.
I bet Em gave them a vision he thought would work: getting to be lyrical while selling records...
But evidenced by this frog ass track - Em can program fart noises on the pads, bang out a literal turd beat and sell a gang of copies.

With Em's track record as a producer... It's easy to try and dismiss the beat as wack. But it's not... It's just way left field from anything that gets play on urban radio right now.
The beat is different but it's very hip hop. It's off kilter, it straddles syncopation, it's sparse, and it incorporates quirky samples.
Dare I say it could pass for a cousin and shares the same spirit of one of Dilla's most celebrated off-kilter weirdo beats:
So yeah it's far from Em's finest moment. But let's stop with the mob mentality pile-on... And think for a moment back to a time where every hip hop beat didn't have to sound like a Dj Mustard starter kit to make waves

It's a terrible beat. This is very simple.
It sucks.
Off kilter? Yea that happens in rap sometimes. And the beat still sounds nice to the ears. Just different.
This beat sucks balls.
Some beats are left field, sure. This is one of them. Some of those left field beats make you bob your head and make you feel good.
This beat eats shit. It sucks.
A lot of hip-hop beats incorporate quirky samples, you're absolutely right. A lot of them sound really good with those samples.
This beat does not sound good. It sucks asshole.
Some producers make beats that could share the spirit of Dilla's off-kilter beats.
This beat does not share that spirit. The majority of Dilla's beats were pleasing listens. This beat is not. It sucks all of the dicks.

why hasn't anyone told Em since that Recovery album that those "...a fuckin' ninja turtle wouldn't come tort us / tortoise / toward us..." punchlines are horrible.
I get the shredder / michaelangelo word play before it but goddamn those punchlines he's been abusing since the Recovery album are horrendous.
I haven't like an Em album since Em Show and it doesn't have much replay value to me today. Nor do his albums before that one.
I listen to most of what he releases still when he drops something. I'll listen once because I gotta hear HOW he is flowing. I don't expect to like any of the content, ever.
