I was so hyped to hear your joint after I make mines and you never disappoint, hard snares, has a electric feel to it, nothing I was expecting from some worldly samples, you got an ear for the right chops, digging the sped up sample in the background is that instrument a shamisen or a koto sample?
I'm surprised nobody else participated in this challenge, I was expecting at least three or five others to have a track up, oh well.

Anyways, it took a while (personal family issues) but I had a some dope material when I fist started but I loved two of the samples so much but didn't like how one other source sounded so I scrapped all and started all over again.
The reggae source I used again but a different sample; I used a guitar and put a low pass filter on it and took some percussion and took the lows outs.
I also used the Hawaiian record again but a different sample on the same record than before, I took a simple guitar strum, and then I sampled from a female Mexican marimba player.

This whole beat reeks some (seemingly)-alone-on-a-island-in-the-dark-of-night type vibe, marimba got that sinister sound, lil cracklin perc like insects crawling on the walls, the repeated bass stabs on some jungle drums rattin your postition – atmosphere THICK man, thats real dope!!!
Drums are perfect, came thru without stealin the show, snare got that NICE lo end to make it bang, dig that!!!
Also, I really really preciate you breakin down the process – thats my fav. Part of the chops, so thats a heavy +1...
Goodness, makes me wanna turn on the PS and play thru some island horror...
