Always cool to hear new Meth flows.
He's one of those guys that might not drop a great album
but he'll always get at least a couple listens from me when drops
something new because I gotta check out HOW he's spitting.

Jay, Pharoahe, Meth, and a few others.


Most of his work is usually at least enjoyable to listen to
even if it's not something that I would say I have to revisit
5, 10, 15, 20 years later. Only album of his I do that with is his debut.

I just find it so abysmal and sad. Meth is the saddest drug on the streets which ruins lives beyond hope, I can't imagine why that would be enticing to play off. Shrug.

or another great album i should say. i know it's too late now but still...dude is a beast on the mic and one of the best performers ever (in any genre)...he should be a mega star but he never really reached his full potential in my opinion. i like Tical but it wasn't the classic album he deserved in his catalog...the planets just never aligned for dude i guess.

Dude has a great voice. He has rapped over some quality beats. He has a sound, he has a persona, he can make great hooks, he can body a feature verse. But there's not enough going on to differentiate one Method Man verse from the next. He has all these vocal talents, but at the end of the day he wants to write verses and put them over beats. I respect it, but it doesn't really play to his strengths.
What would he sound like if he went into the booth with nothing written down? Would he just start styling like he did on "Method Man"? I'd like to hear it, that would ill.

Like, I can live with Streetlife (who I really don't mind) and Carlton Fisk, because they've been recording with Meth since the beginning. But Hanz On seems like he's on every track. Plus Freaky Marciano, Chedda Bang, and Eazy Get Rite? The tracklist honestly reads like a joke.

Hanz On is the dude who snuffed Joe Budden. This album is also released on Tommy Boy/Hanz On music.

Hopefully he saved the best material for that. Not getting my hopes up though.

I read a while back that this would be the mixtape prequel to his album "Crystal Meth". Maybe that idea got scrapped though.

CDQ just means no buzz, no fuzz, no weird internet sharing bitrate drops. It's basically anything properly ripped from 192kb/s upwards. When the blogosphere was establishing itself it was usually used as a way to distinguish between a mixtape track with low bitrate and DJs shouting over it vs. how the song would sound once it was mastered to be a radio single or for an album.
