listening to his albums recently and while his earlier group cuts are hallmark anthems and made careers straight up, however his albums had something good and moments as well,

of his albums which one did you dig and or what did you see his most artistic growth as a solo artist?

mistermaxxx R.Kelly, Michael Jackson,Stevie wonder,Rick James,Marvin Gaye,El Debarge, Barry WHite Lionel RIchie,Isleys EWF,Lady T.,Kid creole and coconuts,the crusaders,kc sunshine band,bee gees,jW,sd,NE,JB

Special alone gets my nod for one of the most under appreciated albums of all time!!

i dug Heart Mind and Soul too but wasn't pleased with the label pushing Face on him
The songs weren't bad but there was an album planned with no face involvement
If it was an entire album that grooved like Starlight..Moonlight...

The Motown albums weren't really El
They were pushing him to get that Lionel crossover $ and it wasn't working
If they would have let him be him...things would have been different.
