-I've been going back through the Sea and Cake's catalogue and, god damn, are they just an excellent band. Everything is quality. Just consistency defined.
-I bought a flanger pedal back in February and now I'm kind of regretting it. I mean, it does what its supposed to do, I'm just not sure that's what I wanted.
What about you?

Nottz as a part of the soul council, and he has some of the dopest beats out - drums and bass are PERFECTION, real unique...
I do however, confess Im slightly disappointed with the way he treats (or doesnt) some of his samples... I know, in light of the recent breaks debate, that Im in the minority on this one, but still.
I confess I was lookin forward to that Ea$y Money (ST) album, man can spit and has the dope Premier and 9th singles out --- thats until I saw Static Selektah riddled across the prod credits --- Now? Not so much...
I confess Ive used a SLAMMIN Khrysis snare almost unedited on several beats that already has rap on them, I mean to layer them and EQ more, I promise!!!
Thats all.
EDIT: Ohh yeah, and I confess AMP is one of my fav. beatmakers, and I get depressed everytime I look up his WIKI for the 13/14/15 credits...

totally agree dude. SS is annoying as f*ck for the most part - yeah he has a few bangers, but most of his stuff seems average as hell to me
The people who bought into this idea was stupid in the first place, you going to pay $25 a month so someone can send you three random $1 bin vinyl that might be something you like, shit they would be better to go to the goodwill or their local record store put on a blind fold, and pick three records in the $1 or .25cent area and only thing you've spent was $3 & some gas, smh.

They advertised it as "cool" music being sent to you, not Mancini records.
That's what made it so infuriating. If you go to their site and click on a sample playlist for one of the "#vibes" it gives you all kinds of modern, non-dollar bin artists.
There was a fake twitter making fun of the service that was all, "Like Fripp & Eno? Well, we've got Loggins & Messina!"

I mean, what happened to going to the record store and chatting up the dudes behind the counter? I'd reckon most record store folks love being asked what records they dig.
imcvspl, I posted this up mainly because I wanted your thoughts on the whole VNYL fiasco. . .

I can't believe they aren't doing new vinyl. They should have gone to all the new labels and offered to buy the overstock or even just bulk, then curated based on that. Could have negotiated terms to work around the rental law, and then they wouldn't look like they have no clue what they are doing.
Anyone thinking they are going to get some good picks of used vinyl from a subscription service is an idiot. That the guy is from Venice only further illustrates the point.

My confessions:
- Haven't made music in a while. Well I actually did a recording session a few weeks ago but haven't even heard it yet. I'm anxious to do something but waiting until the time is right.
- In fact all of my music related things have been on hold. I prototyped some shit that just needs to be made into a product but just haven't had the time to complete the board layout complete and buy the PCB's.
- Slowed down in my new music consumption a bit. Still getting tons of shit but less time to actually peruse it and not feeling as pressed.
- Ultimately I've stopped going through the motions with music and in some regards am seeking purpose toward the next things that I commit the effort to.
- Because there is a void, which I don't think I can neccessarily fill but needs to be acknowledged and I want to be doing what I can to truly acknowledge it.
- Part of that involves writing. My book is done, just waiting on the illustrations to go to print.
- But I want to be doing more real time stuff. I'm just not into the hyper social reality of the field today. I haven't been on social media for over a year and don't want to go back. Fuck self branding shit. I just want to write and put it out there for the diggers to find, nah meen.

You're acting like they weren't out to rip people off from the start. Maybe I'm just extra cynical, but it seems like they didn't really have good intentions at all. #venturecapitalism
I know what you mean RE: making new music. I'm in somewhat of a holding pattern myself.
